Communication Tools to Address the Top Ten Testing Challenges

If these are challenges, how can they be fixed?

William Perry and Randy Rice did a study of the top 10 software testing challenges and how to address them. This is in a book, which can be acquired from the Quality Assurance Institute. These are major challenges and many of them can be addressed with specialized interaction and communication tools.

What has research shown are the top 10 testing challenges? How have others experienced these challenges? What have your colleagues done to address these issues? And most importantly, how can these issues be addressed?

"For a list of all the ways technology has failed to improve the quality of life, please press three." – Alice Kahn

As we discuss them, we will get participant feedback on examples and solutions, as we propose some of our own. The Focus. You will be able to determine whether or not it is a challenge for your software testing organization, and if so, begin to change paradigms to achieve solutions

This material is solution-oriented, and is based on the situations and problems posed in Section 5 of QAI's Test Planning course.

Abstract: The ten top testing challenges are first discussed.  Then, for those challenges typically made worse by communications failure, alternative dialogue methods are shared.  These include techniques from NLP (Neuro-Lingusitic Programming), Language and Behavior, Perceptual position, and a variety of behavior, conversation, and listening techniques.
