Project management resources
Project management defined. Project management can be seen as a collection of tools and techniques that enable the creation of an asset
over a period of time. It is the process necessary to go from the idea of a product or asset to its creation. In particular it concerns the management of time, cost and
quality and, most importantly, people.
Project management skills, technical vs.
people-based. Few resources discuss the importance of
behavioral science to project management in depth, although many
texts refer to how important it is to consider. PMI says
that 90% of a Project Manager's job is communication.
Projects succeed and fail based on what happens behaviorally, not
technically.
It is for this reason that the book "Managing Projects Well" was written by Steve Bender.
